“I play drums better than my dad and we’re going to be the biggest band in the world”: the strong words of Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan’s son

Simon Crahan has no doubts: Vended, the band he formed together with Griffin Taylor, son of Corey Taylor, is here to win

Simon Crahan, son of Shawn “Clown” Crahan (Slipknot), gave an interview to “Metal Hammer” in which he assured that “his” Vended, the band he formed with Griffin Taylor, son of Corey Taylor, will be “the biggest band in the world.”

“We’ve been recording stuff that will make people shit their pants,” he added.

Vended have come in for some criticism, as many believe that their relative success is only due to the fact that two of their members are the sons of the two main figures in Slipknot. The fact that the group is playing the first parts of Slipknot on their new European tour didn’t help.

“I have no problem with the comparisons to Slipknot,” he stressed, “but I play drums better than my dad. That’s a fact. And when people say Griffin sounds like his dad, well, that’s obvious. But I firmly believe he’s going to be better than him [Corey].”

“My dad didn’t give us everything on a platter. His fans are the ones who decided to like us,” he continued. “If they don’t like us, they can just shut up. But you chose to spend five minutes of your day on something that just makes me laugh, because I know I’m on the right track.”

“Within a year, we’ll be giants. We’re going to dominate this whole thing, I hope people don’t get sick of our name,” he finished.
